How do expats feel about living, working and integrating in Maastricht? The Expat Centre Maastricht Region (ECMR) is a service point primarily aimed at expats (EU and non EU) and their families who have recently moved to South Limburg. The ECMR uses the results of this survey to optimize their services. Here are some results: • 71% works in the the Maastricht region and 75% lives there. • 43% have been working here for more than 5 years and 45% have been living here for more than 5 years • 63% live here with their family: partner and/or children • Attending cultural activities and events (mentioned by 37%) and learning Dutch (mentioned by 28%) were the most important factors in feeling at home. • 68% have heard of the Expat Centre Maastricht Region (ECMR), and 31% have visited the ECMR • Respondents would like more information about community centers (34%), dual careers (34%), and renting a house in the Netherlands (29%).
